Different Arrows for Different Consequences

Royce uses one shape of arrow for natural actions and a different one for actions that need to be prevented.

The following diagram implies that retreating one phase to fix a just-discovered error has the same "moral weight" as advancing a phase:

However, retreating multiple phases is represented by different and much less appealing arrows.
